Pure Life Studio -Standard Process Purification Program

Aims of Detox: The aims of a detox program are to reduce the workload of the digestive system, enabling it to perform more efficiently, and to stimulate the parts of your body that are responsible for cleansing and elimination.  Successful detoxing depends for the main part on what you eat and drink, but it can be complemented by body therapies to speed up the elimination of toxins, and mind therapies to help you relax and reduce stress levels.  The intention is to coax your mind and body to rid itself of waste, replacing it with revitalizing and nurturing foods and thoughts.

Incorporating a regular (seasonal, bi-annual, annual) diet detoxification program will help you reprogram your eating habits and keep you in much better physical condition with less toxicity to worry about as you lean towards more fruits and vegetables and cut back on processed food, sugar and hydrogenated oils.

This is not a starvation or a ‘hug the bathroom’ program and you can eat as much as you want of healthy, unprocessed foods such as (preferably organic) fruits, vegetables, grains and some proteins. You will also be adding (2-3) shakes to your diet. This is simply blending water/ice to whatever fruit(s) and/or vegetables you enjoy with a couple of scoops of the unflavored powder shake. This helps to curb the appetite while it alkalizes the body which is key to detoxing. There are supplements throughout the program that help your body to purge toxins while fortifying the liver, kidneys, colon, etc.  A free consultation as well as many recipes and tips will be provided. The program can be adjusted to fit your personal goals and lifestyle.

There is a Symptom Survey, a list of 200+ questions regarding body symptoms you may experience. This can be filled out before the purification program begins, and then it’s very interesting to look at it again after the program ends to see which symptoms naturally subsided because of the nutritionally packed foods you enjoyed. The body is amazing how it can repair and heal if given the vitamins and minerals it needs. The Symptom Survey can be reviewed again after the purification program to determine where the body may still be out of balance. This is done through a computer generated program which also suggests what you may need in terms of supplementation to bring your body to optimal balance.   Currently, this service is offered free of charge.

Summary of why we eliminate the following from the diet:

Milk – increases the production of mucus in the body; requires a lot of digestive enzymes and so taxes the liver.

Caffeinated Drinks – they are diuretics and lead to dehydration.  As a stimulant, it puts your body under stress and deprives it of essential nutrients and prevents the body from absorbing vitamins and minerals.

Alcohol – puts stress on the body in a number of ways and taking an occasional  break from it can be very beneficial to bring the body/mind into better balance.  Alcohol overworks the liver, produces free radicals, and can interfere with the brain’s chemical messengers (specifically serotonin, GABA, and dopamine) and depletes vitamins and minerals. (continued used of alcohol can lower serotonin levels which can lead to depression or mood swings…taking a break can help the body get into a better rhythm to produce it at higher levels naturally without a stimulant helping that happen).

Wheat – wheat protein (gluten) is difficult to digest and many people are sensitive/allergic to it.

Convenience or processed foods, fatty or fried foods – includes ready meals, cookies, cakes, and spreads. They often contain hydrogenated oils in them along with a lot of high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, chemicals, MSG etc. that aren’t ‘real’ food and it is hard to digest and adds a toxic burden.  These foods also are ‘empty calories’ and will make you feel full even though you are nutritionally deprived which can cause cravings and weight gain.

Meat – creates extra work for your digestive system, (red meat contains saturated fat) and are good to eliminate through the program (optional)  Free Range or Organic Eggs, Oily fish (from unpolluted waters) and soy are okay in small amounts.

Sugar – disrupts blood glucose levels, adds empty calories, overworks the pancreas and liver.
